Was Spitzer destined to fall? I am not a therapist, so I am not going to try to answer that question.
However, this article in Time Magazine from yesterday, March 13, 2008, provides some great insight into one perspective on answering this question.
While I don’t know the whys around this situation with Governor Spitzer, from a perspective of being a leadership coach, I believe the decision to resign was a good one. It is hard to lead from a high position when trust has been broken (we’ve all seen this story before and the fallout that follows).
